Save the "Russian American Project"

For the past six years, the Twin Cities Russian American Project has reached out to hundreds of young adults with social and educational Jewish community programs and events.  Unfortunately, due to the current economy, the project has lost bi-cities funding and cannot continue without your support.

Prior to this program, many young adults from the former Soviet Union living in the metro area either lost touch with their cultural roots or felt disconnected from the local Russian Jewish community.  Today the program is critical and dear to the hearts of more than 500 Jews who chose to restore this connection and meet new people of the same cultural background and descent.

We need your help today.  If you have attended an event throughout the years and would like to see these types of events occurring in the future, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution and keep this one-of-a-kind program alive.  Our goal is to raise $25,000! Please pledge what you can and ask others to do the same.  If everyone does their part, we can achieve this goal together.

The Russian-American Project is extremely important to both young Russians and local Jewish organizations that depend on this outreach initiative to maintain a thriving Jewish community.

Please check out this page regularly for updates on our fundraising progress.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Sincerely,

Ilana Volodarsky (Russian American Project Director), Faina Kanivetsky, Slava Portnov, Anna Azrelyan and Lev Frayman

$25,000

Fundraiser a success, more donations needed

Almost 150 people joined us for a fundraising event at the “Spin Nightclub” on June 27th, 2009.

We raised more than $2,000 for the Russian-Americans Project.

Russian comedy club from Chicago came to participate in this fundraiser with a special performance.  (Free of charge, donated their services to show the support for the RA Project.)

Special thanks to Dan Gelb and “Spin Nightclub” for facilitating the event.
